CLEVELAND, Ohio - A Cleveland Police officer has been arrested for allegedly stalking an individual.
According to Michael McGrath, Chief of Cleveland Police, 26-year old Cleveland Police Officer Theresa M. Cavett was arrested on a fourth degree felony charge of menacing by stalking on Tuesday morning.
In a statement Chief McGrath says an Internal Affairs Unit investigation showed that Cavett made unwanted phone calls, sent harassing text messages and went to the alleged victims home starting in October, 2009. The Internal Affairs Unit investigation claims the activity continued until June, 2010.
Cavett, hired in October, 2007, is currently assigned to the Second District. Chief McGrath says she will be suspended from duty without pay pending the completion of a criminal case against her.
